Am 18. Februar 2010 sollte sie über die Bühne gehen, die mit Spannung erwartete Premiere von La Juive, die erste Produktion von Halévys Oper in Russland nach Stalins Verbot vor 70 Jahren. Doch das Pub likum musste im Foyer des St. Petersburger Mikhailovsky Theaters warten.
Kekhman’s List. Three first premier productions of La Juive by Halévi took place in Mikhailovsky theatre. The main parts in each of three performances were sung by guest foreign soloists.
Saint Petersburg Mikhailovsky theatre responded to the beginning of the year of France in Russia by the production of Fromental Halevi’s famous opera once known to us as the Jew Woman then renamed to the Cardinal’s Daughter and now politely called as La Juive.
This time one could not only see, but listen. Peter Feranec has transformed the orchestra, which sounded as semiprofessional company before, to the orchestra of European league. Musicians are producing a very clever and cold sound – this is a real music elegancy.
